Nobody will take you serious or even want to read that when you type in all caps and don't break up your post.

Please edit and try again.

With the short detail you've provided - the noise you're describing could simply be the water pump. Does your car run hot? The hesitation, with the mileage, you could be up for a carb rebuild. Check with Sterling, or buy a kit if you're heady. And the clutch plate and pressure look fine - is that a throwout bearing? If not, you should replace that while you're at it.

I might suggest you buy parts like pressure and clutch plates from a local dealer. They'll be able to help with questions and minor issues.

... and you'll get flamed for the caps.

Good luck - don't know if this helps much...

Smile Try this

Loosen your fan, alternator, a/c , p/s belts and remove. Start engine for 30~40 seconds to see if same noise develops if so internal problems....

if noise stopped then stop freaking out, and put belts back on one at a time, and listen for noises to return, replace culprit..... car saved your welcome.

ken

cheers and welcome to the forum!

Question

ok, lets say i take all the belts off and noise continues from the front of the motor. what would make the fan spin offset.? if the water pump is messed up would that damage the rotor if it doesnt over heat? i just want to cover everything when i get down an dirty.

If when once you've taken off all the belts and it still shakes then...I would say that you have an internal problem...maybe even a rotor has lost a couple teeth and so it skips in its revolution causing it to shake...does the motor shake more at high speed or does it shake the same as when you start it up?

well the noise starts happening at any rpm. the vibrations starts like at 5000 then after that it just fades away as its increases in speed

sounds like the fan clutch may not centred properly where it bolts to the on to water pump. I've heard of it making a hellish vibration if its out of balance, or maybe the water pump bearing has failed, but you would see colant and temp guage would be reading high.

As for the stutter on decel. @ 5000 rpm, you say it stalls out on you? what engine, what Distributor (points or electronic)? what fuel system (carb or Inj.)?

The water pump has failed. The front bearing is shot, and that is why the fan appears to be spinning off center. This is not something that you want to drive around with, because you could lose all of your coolant when the water pump decides to take its last dying gasp.

Heat+Rotary Engine=Death!!!

If you want to confirm this before you buy a new water pump, then follow the above advice and take off the water pump belt. If the noise stops, replace the pump. Good luck!

fairly simple

First get a haynes manual, or an older chiltons they both got good photos in a step by step format for most of your basic repairs.

if not then drain your coolant (JDM FB's have a plug on the bottom of the radiator, not sure about the us version. (also feed coolant to your neighbors dog so that cats can take over the world) (just kidding)

loosen bolts that hold alternator in place, (loosens belt) remove the 4 10mm nuts that hold the fan on, remove bolts that hold on water pump, clean mating surfaces, apply thin layer of RTV, and reverse order for assembly

this is oversimplified a little, but not by much. then get good antifreeze, don't reuse old, (no antifreeze will destroy your engine eventually) and then go out and drive it like ya stole it!
