Airpump removal question GSL-SE

So I have done some searching but there is a lot of info out there so here is my situation:

I am taking my GSL-SE to an exhaust shop on Friday to have a straight 3" pipe run from the header back to a (insert random baffled style muffler).

And yes this is a full race project (Lemons).

My question is this. I will drive the car there stock, but then after the exhaust is put on there will be no more connections from airpump to exhaust and also no connection from exhaust to secondary port actuators.

Is this an issue? And by that I mean, yes the secondaries won't open but will the car still run and start OK if the airpump is deactivated but none of the other crazy actuators etc aren't modified?

I would just need to get the car home. loudly of course.

Thanks!

it will get you home. a 3" exhaust is a complete waste and you will find that the car will actually be slower and will sound like trash. the 5th and 6th ports will not operate without the split air tube and the engine will be flat in the upper portion of the torque curve.

As I mentioned above this a full race project, not street legal.

Aux ports will be either wired open all the time or removed completely.

dave is right. You would be better off with a 2.5" exhaust.

It's so easy to keep them operational not sure why you would want to lose that extra performance.

because this car is no longer street legal and will only be at the track the rpms will never really be below 4.5-5 grand...

The secondaries open at something like 3 right?

No lost performance as there is no need for low rpm torque.

You should be fine to wire them open.

wiring them open makes for lethargic acceleration in the lower rev range
