Airpump Q
What would happen if I just disconnected my airpump belt? Im planning on disconnecting my power steering(leaking and making funny noises, too lazy/poor to fix), and i thought i might do the air pump at the same time.

Depends. Do you need to pass emissions testing or visual exam to keep the vehicle licensed? Do you still have a catalytic convertor?
If you need to pass emissions testing, you'll need a functioning airpump and cat.
If you have a cat, you need to have the airpump connected and functioning to keep from ruining the cat.

When my airpump belt broke off of my 83 my engine would idle like it's on one rotor.
I'd say keep it since the horsepower gains, if any, will be negligeable.
Keep in mind that removing the airpump WILL burn out your cats (the stock ones, don't know about the others).
