Airpump going to hell...
Alright, I put a cone filter on my GSL-SE a few monthes ago. I took the hose that normaly goes into the airbox and just stuck a piece of cloth over it and rubber banned it temporarly. The 5th and 6th ports weren't opening so I fix them the other day. Getting to the ports required me to move this hose around a few times. I got the ports working and my car was running great, for one day.
I was driving down the street like normal and heard a whistling sound coming from under the hood that started at about 2K and got louder as the car revved. I looked under the hood and the cars engine fan was spining like crazy...even at idle. After some inspection, I realized the belt that drives the airpump, also drives the engine fan, and the piece of cloth that I had put over the hose was gone. Also, when the engine is running it doesn't suck much air like it used to.
I think the peice of cloth got stuck in the airpump, so I took off the tube that goes into the airpump and tried to probe the inside with a ziptie, and a little peice of that fell in too.
So I have a piece of ziptie and cloth in the airpump, I don't want to start the car when theres **** in it, and I don't have any idea how to clean out the airpump.
Can anyone help?
