Air pump as a supercharger?

Has anybody ever tried to use the air pump as a mini-supercharger rather than for it's intended purpose with the exhaust? I think I've read about it being done. Just a thought.

i don't think you would get enough pressure out of it, to get any noticable gains, i've thought of hooking it up to a snowmobile though. anyone know what the max rpm they can take is?

Gets asked a million times on every car forum on the planet.......

No,it doenst have nearly enough output volume to feed a car engine.A smog pump and an intake supercharger might both be airpumps, but there are big differences in size and output pressure/volume.
You might be able to boost weedwhacker engine with one,but most engines that size make only 1 to 2 HP........ 1 to 2 HP is required just to physically run the smog pump.....see where Im going with this?
