Air Pump Supercharger?!?!

ok folks... here's the deal, i have a drug loving friend (cocaine, weed, alcohol, you name it, he loves it) and a high school drop out, who apparently also owns a 1985 GSL-SE. He's cool and all, knows some stuff about rotaries and FB's (and talks too much; could be the drugs), but totally an idiot when it comes to common logic...

anyhow he told me that he was going to use the air pump (AKA emissions crap) and someway, convert it into a supercharger! at first i thought the drugs really hit him, but the more i think about it, it kinda make sense a bit... then i think a little bit more, and it doesn't make sense 1 bit

here are my pro and con reasons why i think he's AIR PUMP SUPERCHARGER conversion (in random order)

1. IF the plumbing is rerouted towards the intake plenum or intake piping it will it only be able to PUMP air into the the intake---then again, i believe the flow rate of the AIR PUMP isn't incredibly high when compared to the sucking velocity (and speed) of the motor; so this would self contradict itself...

2. and even IF it did make power, it becomes circumstantial because again, the flow rate of the AIR PUMP isn't that high and it takes power from the crank to make power, so it's basically cancelling both off

3. dyno proven??... my a$$ it's going to show any positive results

well that's all i could think of... anyone else out there who seem to have a knowledge at this, please share their thoughts or comment on this outlandish idea

ummm... i dont know exactly how it would work.. but dosent the air pump only like 2lb of pressure if that? would not help much.

also where in socal are you?

the only other supercharger idea i've heard of is having an extra rotor/rotorhousing acting as a supercharger....i guess if u upped the air pumps pressure somehow.....it might not be a real real supercharger but i guess it might help

Using the air pump as a supercharger wouldn't work, however using the stock mounting location of the air pump as a place to MOUNT a proper supercharger is not a bad idea.

The air pump doesn't pump enough volume to make any psi's to the engine. It might have some pressure outta the little spout but not enough to pressurize everything.

I've heard of using larger air pumps from v-8's on small go cart engines, nfw on a car engine.

i dont see that all the time and hard work to even make a diferance in the performance is worth it.

I think if it worked, alot of people would be doing it. I have seen people use all kinds of thing to try to supercharge their car and none of them ever really work.

it would make more psi if you could find or make a smaller pully for it and a belt to go with it.

Ive always wanted to use one of those 1+ HP electric shop vacs as a means of forced induction. Just get a power inverter, and have a switch in the cabin. Only problem I can think of is if the engine gets spinning faster than the vacuum. Then Id imagine thatd youd be in trouble.

Ive always wanted to do something like that but everyone kept tellin me it was stupid cause it wouldnt build up psi. I dont know though. If you find something that works, be sure to tell us.
