Air pump re-installation?

I removed the air pump as the first step for installing RB's header. Since that day it's been snowy and cold, and w/ no garage I thought maybe I'd take it to a shop and have the thermal reactor removed and replaced. Is it allright to throw the pump back on? It sounds foolish, I know, but the warning on it says "Never remove". LOL. Just making sure I didn't mess it up by taking it off.
