whats the best exhaust

whats the best exhaust for an 83 with a basically stock motor? the class rules allow removal of cats and muffler with stock ports. any ideas

yeh definatly racing beat.

thats what I have.

perfect fit, super high quality, but I dont have a full RB system so I dont know what they sound like, although I have heard nothing but good things.

This is for a race car, right? If so, RB stuff is too heavy, have your muffler place run a single pipe (2.25 inch) straight back. Run it under axle if the rules allow (you'll need to limit the downward travel of the axle somehow) then into a muffler of your choice. Preferably something with stainless steel packing, or you can just pull out the fiberglass and pack in some stainless steel wool. You'll save money, make more power, and weigh less, but it will be louder.

yeah thats my next question.... i cant go over... hmm its either 102 or 104 decibals i dont remember. will it still make that?

im pretty shure either system is well below 102 decibles.

its definatly well below that. Its very subtle, which is exactly what i like. My TA passed for noise and its way louder than a FB with RB on it.

why would you ever want to run it UNDER the axle? the 2 choices would be over the axle, or cut it off before the axle and make it a downpipe (which is what i have now).

and to 82transam: yeah now that i think back to last season, i remember my buddy in an E-Production 1st gen barely passed sound with just a straight pipe. your right, it should be well below 102.
