Question Air filters

Will I benifit from taking out my stock airfilter and putting a cone style one on the eind of my custom cold air intake system? Any ideas? Thanks

Yeah the motor should feel a bit more responsive and it'll sound louder. Just make sure it stays in an area where you are constantly getting cold air for the best power gains.

No cone styles for the carb dude... Just go for the K&N round type. I see you already have a cold air intake, that's pretty much it.

Anyone know what the Big black plastic cold air intake is?

make sure your AIR PUMP is sucking air in the same box or cone you wanna put it... air pump will create more vacuum and thus more air being drown in... you'll feel a difference if you use a small air breather in your air pump... HKS is good for cone intake and the infamous K&N...

I've got a carb bonnet for mine, I was considering trying a cone filter... even though I've already got the round K&N type.

Have you seen the filter top? That looks pretty neato

looks neato, but unless you have louvers or something in your hood, you're just going to be sucking in hot air. recommend not putting on that top part of the K&N- run a cold air intake.

What I was thinking was to add a cone filter at the end of my cold air intake and taking out the round one in the stock airbox. The cone filter would go literally right infront of the raidator so it would be sucking up direct cold air. Is this a possibility? Would I benifit from it? Thanks

A cone in front of the rad would not only get wet, but would be clogged with dirt / leaves / bugs in a matter of days.

Besides that, if you are still using the cannister (even emtpy), what's to gain? It's a small carb and only needs so much air - IMO, K&N drop in with a back yard cold air intake off the snorkle provides all the air you need on a stock Nikki
