Air Filter Cover paint code /colour

My 1985 1st gen FB is going into the paint shop this week and while there the
original blue air filter cover /body needs painting.I can't get the part to the paint supplier for a colour match so does anyone know the paint code or actual colour
as I have to order the paint by phone.
The only suggestion I've had from a clever one is " Air Filter Blue" -innit mate but the paint man won't know that colour - Help pls -needed fast !

Ford blue is a really close match. the problem with repainting the air cleaner lid is that the wording will be gone. its originally painted onto the air cleaner and so far as i know, no one makes an exact sticker to replace the lettering once painted.

I can cover the lettering , as paint is in good nick there -and touch with brush where needed .

I'd see if i can't go to a local salvage yard and pick up an air filter lid/container for cheap that is allready painted and in decent condition. I don't really see how they would ware to the point of needing repaint, did the car not have a hood for some time?

Forum member -xlr8planet- makes and sells exact-fit vinyl lettering for the top of the air cleaner. I had him do a set for me in chrome and in white, and they are perfect replicas. The chrome has held up to engine heat with no issue (I haven't installed the white yet.)

Check out this thread, starting at post #95:

Unfortunately, he can't replicate the tinier printing on the aircleaner body; says it's just too thin to turn out properly.

Correct. My RD springs are painted in Mazda Impulse Blue - AY. The Calipers are painted using Ford Blue. Close but not quite the same.
