air cleaner snorkle

Hey guys I've been thinking of taking off that snorkle on the air cleaner box for better airflow was wondering if anyone has done the same and noticed a difference. Also is the snorkle completely open or is there a screen or anything inhibiting airflow?

open. not really any advantage that i can see. *kinda* works as a colder air intake than an open one... if you want airflow, i would go with a rb powerpulse or cut the stock airbox.

I didn't notice a difference when mine was off....I ended up putting it back on since it didn't make a difference.

I dunno. I drew a line around the bottom of the filter, and cut it off there. Of course, I also have a custom milled air cleaner top, that is the same size as the filter......

Definitely nice lid, Rogue.

And I think the racing beat air filter assembly looks pretty good. At least I like it. But if you don't have the money for it, then I suggest doing what blwfly did.

Yeah, a freind of mine did that to an old air cleaner assembly for his SA. He saved his original one, though. He wanted a lid like mine, but alas, they have been discontinued.

I love the lid on my car. It was missing the top and the clips to hold the top down when I bought it. I figured for the price I paid, I couldn't go wrong. RESpeed rocks!
I have been told it was one of *maybe* 5 ever made. Needless to say, I plan to hang onto it.

If only I had a Sterling carb to place under it.......
