Air Cleaner Cover Clamps

After I changed the air filter on my 85 GSL-SE I found that the cover clamps no longer snap tight over the air cleaner box. Has anyone else had this problem and come up with a fix?

I've tried that and they will not stay bent. I guess after 33 years they're just tired.

Different air filters can cause different fitment issues. If a certain brand worked well for you then use that brand. I have used Wix filters with good results.

Also if the felt sealing strip in the air cleaner lid is worn out or missing, it won't clamp properly.
