air blower
i have a 85 gsl-se and i was told u can get the blower to blow harder then it is by hooking up another wire. i did have a/c if that matters and if u can where is it located and what color.
thank you
thank you
If you're talking about the air conditioning fan, the top speed of the fan is straight 12v, so crossing a wire somewhere isn't going to speed up fan flow, only speed up electrical shorts and fires.
The SE has several variable resistance wire coils that are mounted inside the squirrel cage fan assembly. These are mounted there to ensure that they get cooling airflow when the fan is turning. They INCREASE resistance over a standard 12v feed, thereby slowing down the fan motor rotation speed. As you bump the dial setting up closer to "MAX", you are removing resistance from the circuit going from the battery to the motor. On "MAX", you're running 12v.
Occasionally, over time, these resistance coils will break (or can be broken through a clumsy install of a replacement fan and squirrel cage assembly). When this happens, you'll have less variability in speeds, but you'll ALWAYS have Max flow.
If you're talking about something else, please reply back with more information and we'll see what we can come up with. HTH,
