He hasn't been on in awhile, but DAMN I like the looks of that cluster.

Would be nice to have a molded cluster bezel like that. I've been contemplating myself how to fill in the upper under dash gap if I build my own. Previous car's I've had didn't have the angled clear plastic, so a nice powder coated sheet metal piece looks natural.

Where did the guy get that gauge bezel? I wonder about getting one without any holes so you can put what you what where you want it.

Too many gauges look ****, especially if they are spread from one side of the car to the other, instead of having 8 different gauges work out what the important gauges are, oil temp oil pressure boost and water temp and maybe a/f ratio (must be wideband)

On my fb some of the gauges were inoperable (stepermotors were toast) and I needed
temp and oil, bought a set of cheapo Sunpros at the partstore, dad ran um in the 70's and 80's he recomended them for my budget said they were pretty good. I love them so far pretty accurate as far as I can tell eaysy to read and easy to see day and night (light up nice adn bright). I mounted mine under the ashtray where the pocket was since my pocket coincedentally was also toast. I got black on black mechanicals work pretty well with the black interior and age of the car, here's a pic:

I have a full set of autometers to go in. I'm going to place it with the tach/speed next to each other in the middle (they are the same size) Oil pressure on one side and water temp on the other. 2 gauge pillar gets the WB and Boost gauge. In the dash where the radio is, will get Fuel, Fuel Pressure, Volts. Radio will be relocated to the "pocket" position.

To me, these are all important gauges.

Alternative Gauges

I have mine mounted on the A-pillar, and I haven't had any issues with them creating a blind spot. I think it's a good location because it's high enough that I don't have to look too far away from my normal line of sight to see them. The smaller wheel (I have a Momo, too) helps with avoiding hand-to-gauge collisions when you're driving hard.

On top of the dash would have been the best location for me, but I didn't want to hack my dash, and i was concerned about the appearance.

As for a tach -- I calibrated my OEM tach and added a small shift light on top of the steering column shroud (not mounted yet when the pic was taken). The OEM tach is "optimistic" -- i.e. when the tach reads 8000, your motor's only turning about 7300.

My aftermarket gauges are Defi. The look is close to OEM, and they have pointers on the outer bezel that can be setup to show the danger level.

Hey guys where do you get that plastic piece that holds the gauges in the center console above the radio? Just wondering cause im doing the same setup with defi gauges and they are 2 3/8 measurements. And also are they available for just 2 gauges or do i have to get the one for three?. Thanks in advance guys.
