After new fuses....
After new fuses....
ok after I replaced all necisary fuses, some things were fixed, ...
but my dash still won't light up, my headlights don't go up and down, and my gage cluster with the gas and oil lvls won't work.
I'm puzzled.
This might take a long time to fix.

On the instrument lights the dimmer control may be bad, there is a way to jumper it to see if it is the problem.
As far as the fuel and oil? There is a fuse in the fuse box that is marked meter but I thought it also controlled the water temp also.
On the oil gauge, check the connection and the sender and clean and tighten as needed.

To add to doc's usual dead on posts, the fuel level sender in the tank may be bad or the wire connection to it may have corroded and broken off.
Iirc, if the meter fuse is out, the dashlights are out too.

hey,
yes water temp doesn't work either, as well as dash lights.
I guess I'll look under the dash and see how the connection is.
headlights, well, I might need new relays. but I hope not.
I checked the links, they looked ok. I'll check again.

Did you pull the fuse marked meter in the fuse box and see if it was burnt? And you can't tell by looking at fuseble links if they are bad unless they are burnt to a crisp. You either swap them out with a known good one or use a OHM meter to test them. I personally recommend getting three 2nd gen fuses that are equivelent to the fuseable link amperages and using those instead.
Relays have nothing to do with it. Follow my directions and you will solve the problem grasshopper.

haha ok, I shall give it a try. I'll get the meter and test the fuse, and then I'll check out the fusable links. I'll look around for 2nd gen fuses.
Know anybody who's good with interior apholstry?
