after market oil cooler
probably nothing you can afford ... the only one I'd trust besides a stock Mazda unit is the H/P Porsche unit from BB (Billy Boat) - can't remember the exact name of the company - it's like $900.
just keep looking and if that fails then post something in the Wanted section ... (just please use common sense if you find a potential seller here - that's all I ask

The potential problem has as much to do with flow as cooling efficiency. The oil cooler is the first thing the oil from the pump sees. The pressure is the highest here. All the oil that the engine gets has to go through the oil cooler. The stock oil cooler has 6 or 7 bars that oil goes through, in two passes. Most cheap coolers for sale might have as many as 6-7 passes, but only a single tube to flow through. These are probably efficient enough, but the pressure drop accross it might be unacceptable. Not to mention that oil coolers with that many passes are huge, and would be a PITA to mount in our engine bays.
Keep an eye out on eBay for one, I've seen them sold on there before. And www.mazdatrix.com sells new Mazda oil coolers if you can stomach the cost.

I got an aftermarket on mine, I was orginally gonna use the stock one, but I wanted one that was fan cooled, and the stock one is the wrong shape to fan cool it...

Of course I traded it for a steering wheel more or less.
