Get entire new cables with built in ends. The old ones will get corroded under the insulation.

I got my at Tractor Supply. I think they where 02 gauge. I ran one negative from the battery to the starter and another from the battery to the shock tower where the factory one has a connection. I also ran a positive from the battery to a 2nd gen fuse block and another from the fuse block to the starter.

Also copy exact the connections. Don't be tempted to clean things up. Multiple grounds seem to be redundant, but they are important.

I did both positve and negative leads at the same time with gauge 2 cables. These are readily available at auto zone, oreily's, advance auto.... For gauge 01, you can try a welding supply store.

If you plan to do something custom, try crimpsupply.com. They have a wide assortment of terminals, and the prices are reasonable. I used their solder-on battery terminals and solder pellets -- worked like a charm. Get adhesive-filled heat shrink to finish it off.

Like midnight mechanic, I like welding cable. It has tough insulation, and it's very flexible.

While I like the idea of replacing the entire cable set with one that has fixed terminals, that option does require more effort and will cost more.

If your cables are in good shape other than the terminals, which are the parts that tend to get butchered over time, you might want to just replace the terminals.

If you pick this option, don't go with the cheap ones, they are junk. For just a few more bucks you can get a pair of heavy duty gold plated positive and negative terminals that are very well made, look great and hold up better than the original terminal. I've used these from autozone before and really liked them:

I think, as others have said, you should strongly consider swapping in _complete_ battery cables, that is, new terminal, new wire. If you think your terminals are poor, imagine what is hiding under the wrap on your cables. These are not sealed and they will be corroded. After 33 yrs they have earned retirement! Can't tell you the number of times all sorts of odd-ball electrical issues "magically" disappear when cables are replaced.
You can still buy the OE cables for the FB too I believe. Check out on Mazdatrix site, or with your dealer.
