adjusting throttle... Help

well no matter how much I adjust my throttle cable linkage I can't seem to get it so that the car accellerates past 3/4 throttle... At this point the pedal just stops... I figured it would just be the linkage but no matter how far I adjusted it each way it doesnt seem to make a difference...

And just so you guys know this is a stock nikki with no rats nest, no hard start assist, or cruise linkages...

Thanks!

Pull off the aircleaner, then operate the linkage by hand while looking down into the carb. If you can get it to open that way, then the problem is not in the carb.

I think RX7Carl has a picture on his site that shows part of the linkage that can get flipped over into the wrong position too. I believe that when that happens you lose a lot of your throttle movement, you might want to take a look. Just click on his sig and follow the link.

Good luck!

Darn it! I just checked myself so I could give you a direct link, but I can't find it now. It's the site where he shows the special tools he made for carb removal and stuff like that. Anybody know where that is?

Sounds like it could be a bad cable. Rare, but it happens

Its at the bottom of this page.

http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/266801/4

Now does the throttle open ok at the carb? If so then its in the cable. Theres 2 adjusments on it. The one at the carb, and one at the pedal. Follow the FSM on adjusting them and that should fix you up.
