Anyone know what the threads are so I can get an adapter to put an FC coolant temp sensor on a FB 13b engine thread? Thanks.

Not the same. Maybe I didn't describe it correctly.

What's the one on the left?

I've had two GSL-SE engines and they both had the sensor on the right.

Maybe the one on the left is from a 12A car. Been a long time since I played with them...

It was on the rear of the water pump housing. I'm not sure where the owner got it from as he left for vacation for a few weeks. I need to change it cause the resistance is wrong for the Microtech.

Tap it to 3/8 NPT and use a GM sensor?

I'm thinking that it's the choke switch from a carbureted car.

Any idea what the thread size is? I'd rather just get an adapter if possible.

sensor on the left isn't stock. a factory 13B car will use the same sensor as an FC

Also tells us that the original thread pitch is M12 x 1.5 and that the one you removed is indeed 3/8 NPT if it is in fact that sensor. So I'm sure it wouldnt be too hard to fab up an adapter, or I'm sure any machine shop could take care of that quickly for you.

Thanks Mazda RX-7 EFINI TYPE - the ID of the part and connecting the dots to the correct thread for the sensor in back of the water pump as being M12x1.5 helped me to find a M12X1.5 to 3/8" NPT adapter to fit my autometer mechanical water temp gauge.

Just for reference, the factory 12A water temp sensor on the back of the water pump is m18x1.5
