I've done a couple of searches on "ACV removal" and I'm not finding the answers I want.
I've just installed a Mindtrain header and I'll be using a 24" Mangnaflow as a presilencer/cat replacement back to a R/B muffler. Right now it's just an open header

Question #1. Do I need to take the ACV out and then use the block off plate? Not planning on removing rat's nets till next year.

Question #2. Since I've removed the cat (and the air supply pipe going to the cat) do I need to block off its source (at the firewall side of the intake manifold)? I've read that it's a huge vacuum leak.....but it seems as if it would be source for positive air flow since it fed fresh air to the cats? Anyway.....do I need to plug it?

1. nope. you could take the ACV off and leave the vacuum rack too if you like.

2. also no. the connection to the intake manifold and the split air pipe are different. you can check, but most of the air pump air goes to the PORT AIR port. if yours vents to the air cleaner all the time, it was bad, which is very common

you'll maybe see later, but if you take the ACV off the vacuum rack really isn't doing much of anything, so there is no need to remove it

Not sure I understand what you're saying in answer #2? I hope I understand correct, I DO NOT need to block the port on the back of my intake manifold.
