Accelerator pump issue.

So, before I even start....I have no idea other than basic instructions for rebuilding the carb. But I just reassembled the pump discharge nozzle and it won't squirt when I actuate the accelerator pump. If I losen it, it leaks. Why would it do this?

I think I remember reading somewhere that it's best to make your own gasket for the AP and to double up on them.

The nozzles were clogged. But now I have a new problem. I broke the...idk what it is. Something with a spring in it and a lead on the end. The aluminum crush washer wouldn't flatten so I did it too tight. Lord will it ever end.

The only Al washers I'm aware of are the ones that go to the fuel inlets.

Is the "IDK" part broken or leaking? It has a spring and lead like Pb on it? How factory stock is your carb?

A picture is worth 1000 words

The thing protruding had an outer part that had threads. It had a washer to begin with so i replaced it. But i got it tight and the threaded part broke off inside.

That one above in the picture is not stock.
It has a bit of modification to the AP. That extra bit of metal on the AP actuator is to provide a longer pumping action so the pump functions through an acceleration through primaries and secondaries.
Thats a pretty carb.
