AC idle change

My idle does not change when the compressor kicks in. Is this vacuum operated, or electrical? The ac was an after market install, so there may be missing parts. Thanks in advance! 85 GS all stock except ac.

Where in Charlotte? You coming to Cars and Coffee this saturday?

Cars and Coffee Charlotte

My understanding is that the AC when it kicks on triggers a signal to the carb to bump the idle
and I think thats done with vacuum. The FSM should detail how it works, try the manuals here: Foxed.ca.

Thanks for info, I'll read through the file. I'm out in Matthews. Unfortunately I won't be at the meet this Saturday. The interior is still in a bunch of pieces as I've been fixing all the hacked up wiring the PO did.
