AC compressor source?
Well my AC compressor blew the front seal, still hotter than hell here in SW florida. I looked into it and I cannot find a new or rebuilt compressor. Anyone know of a source for the Nippondenso type? For an 85 GSLSE.

This link never came up when I was searching for a remanufactured A/C compressor for my GSL-SE, bought one off Alibaba.com. When I installed it and got it charged it sounded like a washing machine losing a bearing. Reinstalled my old OEM compressor and it works like a champ.

That's not the right one if the photo is right. mine has an ear top middle, not another pair of tabs. Having trouble finding it but I ordered one that has a serpentine type clutch. I have a new clutch to interchange, an old 1V type.

I ordered one of the above AC compressors. However i note that a highly similar unit is used on Porch 914, 944 '91 cars. It has an extra ear parallel to the one on top in front. IF that does not interfere with the lines then it would work, but the prices I see for it are 800$. There is one that is similar that is 350$ new from advance auto, but the fittings are different. Mine has the bolts fitting the manifolds for the hoses outside the orifice holes. This one has the holes on the inside but has same footprint. Is there a manifold set that can be used interchangeably so that this is irrevevant to connecting the hoses? Says its a 6E171 Carquest #T58345. Need the right manifold adapter to make this work!
My bolts are on the outside! Orifice layout the same, and footprint the same.

Damn, it did start!
Have you considered a parallel flow condenser while into this? If I recall it adds about 1/3 better efficiency.

If you read my post in the "what did you do to your FB" a back in August, I went through the same issue. The RX7's that came from Japan with with the A/C system installed used the Nippon Denso compressor. The RX7's that had the A/C system installed stateside installed the Sanden compressor, you can still find remanufactured compressors for them. I looked for weeks and found the same thing when looking for a replacement for the Denso 10P13E compressor which was either not in stock, or $$$$ because it was used on a Porsche. I also searched for weeks looking for alternate "bolt-on manifolds" and found nothing. I eventually found a replacement A/C compressor (PN# 10P15C) on Alibaba.com and ordered it, it was a good price even with the shipping from Hong Kong. You can read my post to see how that worked out, if your interested and want to take a chance I put the link below. There is also a a listing in the The New Marketplace by someone who is selling a complete used Denso system and if you live in sunny FL you may want to consider that option, good luck.

The original is 18” wide and 14” tall. If you go with the r13a this should help the efficiency. This is just one option . Shop around and make sure the connection sizes are correct

It's the exact same size OEM Denso that is in my 85 GSL-SE, hose manifolds bolted right up on it and it worked just fine, but was too noisy for my taste. Spend $800 and see what you get.

No, i believe you on the P15. The one I just tried, the one in the picture was wrong. Another wrong one. Quite a quest I'm on here. Ya can't buy by lookin' at the pictures.HaHa. Lucky they come with return labels. The one in the picture is smaller and has smaller holes. There is a universal adapter from Holley. Anybody familiar with what you can do with it on this car?
