AL About to start reassembly on my 83!

I hade bought an 83 and an 85 rx7 for the sum of $300.00. One with title one withought. The one i kept that had a title is a nice golden coler that was destroyed when the ideiot i bought it from spray painted it black.
The car ran fine but the pilot bering and front trans bering were shot. so far I have replaice the berings in the motor and transmission, and am planing to put the motor and trans back tn the car as soon as the neverending rain stops. I have done a lot of work on hondas, couple of engine swaps and such. I have never worked on the rx7 so much.
if anyone has any ideas or tips, they would be appriciated

I assume you have the FSMs for years. When installing, mate the tranny to the engine, then drop in. Now's the time to replace the clutch if needed. If the engine bay is trashed, rusty, fix it first, pita to do with the engine in. What kind of black paint was used? If it was cheap rattle can, you might be able to wet sand it off without getting into the OEM paint much.

More details on the rest of the car may get more suggestions.

I have already cleaned up the engine bay. I had planed to buy a new clutch but the two that oreilly's and the other parts store's around here sent me a clutch that was nothing close to the one i need, i tried both of the two they offered. I have to get this thing running asap so i am going to use the clutch that the car came with, it still has more that half life left. I hate to use the old clutch, i know it goes against everything anyone ever told me. And yes, it is just rattle can paint. One more thing, i found the fsm a wile back through this site but last time i tried to open the link it just said site unavailable. Trochoid, if that is your car as your avatar pic, that is one sic ride. Thank for your responses.

I usually try and post 2 links for the FSMs.

http://www.wankel.net/~krwright/cars/rx7/manuals.html

http://foxed.ca/foxed/index.php?page=rx7manual

There are other sites listed in the 2nd gen forum.

Yep, that pic is my toy. More on the build in this thread.
