93 RX-7 R1 springs on 83 GSL

I did something today, i put my old rear factory R1 springs from my 93 FD and put them on the rear of my 83 GSL. i put them on because i thought they would lower the car a little, seeing how they are shorter springs. when i finished and lowerd the car, the car actually raised up higher than stock...i thought, why did it do this, then soon realized that the stock GSL springs are soft and compress easily, while the R1 are quite stiff, and on the FB, won't really compress...well thats my story, and i have pics, here.

more like the old 83 springs have "saged" over the years and lowwered the ride hight of the car. i know my 81 with org. springs sat almost 1" lower than a friens 79 that had new stock springs installed shortly b 4.

Along with the sag on the stock springs, wouldn't the R1 springs be stiffer to hold up the heavier FD? Also adding to that sweet sweet wheel gap.

I know i know. im putting the stock ones back in later tonight, but imma cut one coil off of them before i do. Racing Beat said they did this with no ill-effect but dont recomend cutting off more than one coil.
