The version of the 13b in the gsl-se is a good performer.Bolt on modifications while still keeping it NA gives a great performance for street use.
If you transplant a 13bt you will get far more potential. The real question is whether you have a need for the extra performance. If doing 1/4 mile sprints is your interest then you will get better times, you will also beat rice Hondas at traffic lights. The insurance, fuel consumption and engine wear will rise noticeably, its not just the initial outlay that counts.
I am biased, I love the gen 1. Transplanting a 12bt to me gives you a hybrid gen 1-2. However, when I need to replace I look at upgrading the part such as suspension, brakes and clutch.

Well sometimes I wonder, i hate my car lets get that staright. I need it tuned is the only thing, but once I get it started.. HOLY **** is all I can say... Runs the way the 1st gen should have ran...
30 foot black marks arent a problem, getting sideways when shifting to 2nd isnt a problem, top ending the speedo isnt a problem, theres NO EXPLANATION for 17-18 psi of boost. I bout **** myself LOL Id say yeah go for it!

Dunno why a s5 would be any harder to install... They are both the same motor with a different turbo, the s5 is better
As far as the 20,000 mile comment, I think thats total horseshit. How many 89-91 cars you seen with 20,000 miles? I think thats just someone's bullshuit way to sell something, knowing you cant proove them wrong and they cant proove themselves right. I KNOW my Jspec motor has more than 20k on it, Id say its closer to 50-60k
They clean them up really nice, you basically cant tell, but there are signs of wear in other places

It's definately worth it!
When the boost comes on and you get planted into the seat, there's no better feeling.
There is certainly costs involved in the day to day running, in terms of insurance, and fuel, and accelerated wear on components and fuel etc. In the long run though, it's the fun that counts.
