89 NA engine using stock 12a exaust?

As some of you know i'm going to be installing my 89 13b engine in my 85 gs soon. Now I read somewhere that my stock exaust system will not work with this new setup.. The erason being that the new engine used 3 inch piping instead of the 2 inch.

Now i'm reading things that say it has 2 inch piping. Can someone clear this mess up for me?

The manifolds are different. The angle of the flange for the catalytic converter is wrong. Has nothing to do with the piping diameter.

But if you did use the rest of the stock exhaust, you'd be choking the **** out of that engine.

i was considering this but I was wondering if this would bolt up to the 89 ok.

If that does work... I will get it..... i just dont have the dough yet! i just want to be able to use the stock exaust for driving it to and from my high schools auto shop untill i would be able to afford the RB one.

I just need to know a temporay solution, and if the racing beat will bolt up correctly, and if it does, which one I should use. I'm guessing the GSL-SE one, but i have a automatic tranny and I see exausts for the auto tranny's as well.

Better yet get a 13b manifold or header and get the rest custom made, it'll be cheap and perform better than a stock system.

how much would one of the GSL-SE ones run? I'm going to have the 89 one around anyway so it would make sence to use it. Wouldnt the 89 one add more power than the GSL-SE one?

just go to the part for sale forum here in the club and post there, probably you can found a manifold for less that $30. because some of us dont like them or they are running header or in your local yunkjard, but if you want headers, do the same thing but it gonna cost more. so what i recomend is to buy the manifold and in the mean while save for the racing beat exaust
