85 GSLSE tranny

who can get and rebuilt a 13b SE tranny in the Los Angeles area? Can you get a 12A tranny and gear it(convert) for a stock 85 SE using GSLSE tranny parts? It seems that all the shops around my area can't do that conversion. They said you need a 13b tranny. I thought the only difference was the air vent on the 13b and the gear ratios? Can you install these gear ratios on a 12A tranny? Would it be easier to install a 2nd gen tranny? Please help

I put an 85 SE trans on my 83 12A n/a and it's great. Went together fine. Taller 5th gear is really nice on freeway.

Seriously, how much taller is it? What rpm are you at at a certain speed? Like right now I am at 3K going 60 and 3.5K doing 70. What are you getting?
