Good to hear, I haven't looked at the state laws or the ones following californias, but after 25 years isn't there an exzemption? If so, looks like I might move out of the midlands in a year and a half .

Well I got back from ace hardware, bought a buch of brass connections for my fuel pump and regulator I also got block screws/adaptors. Went to orileys, ordered the "street" version of holleys fuel regulator. Going to put the rest of the exhaust on today and wire my A/F meter, if I don't freeze anyways. Ill put the fuel pump on tomarrow when its above 20, and I have some rubber from work to dampen the noise from the pump. Wish I could get the car up in the air and rhino line it, oh well.

OK some pics today, thought I put up the ones from when I cleaned out the engine bay, oh well.

I have the street port exhaust all on and whatnot... I have it being supported by a piece of sheetmetal I fabed, screw in a bolt from transmission and the metal goes down to the side of the exhaust where theres a place for a bolt. And then Right before the muffler I have a bolt holding the other side of the midpipe up. Should I have more than 2 supports for my midpipe?

Anywho, Im waiting for the garage to warm up a bit. Working on wiring my A/F meter wish I would of decided to put it in the center, would of been alot easier than putting it in the driver side vent. Going to mount the fuel pump tomarrow, when I get some rubber to cut down on vibration, I see where everyone has been mounting their holleys. But did they take out that metal fuel supply line running from the tank?

OK pics

Thanks! Like your work as well

Well tomarrow is supposed to be getting up to 10 degrees maybee lol. Im done working on the car for the night, after a quarter gallon of gas is poured all over you, you only have like an hour before it really bugs you lol. Anywho, I got the holley blue on/plumed/wired/denoised with rubber. Im not the proudest of this install and am going to put it up here, and if anyone has a problem with it, let me know.. looks ok to me, but after the accelerator pump leaking gas all over the headers, Im a little more ****.

I think all I have left is to mount the carb and regulator, drain and fill the tranny and rear pumpkin, wire up the A/F meter and fab some sheetmetal for it (work as a sheetmetal installer/fabricator so no biggie)... Oh and find out where my brake fluid is leaking from, I think the booster. I think thats all I have to do! Has anyone spent months working on a car, not driving it. And right when there done they are afraid to finish it? I think this may happen to me lol...

Well I am ready to be COMPLETLY done with everything in a few hours.... Just soaking it in, reading the internets, waiting for it to be a BEAUTIFUL 40something degrees outside. And also wishing I lived in Mesa, AZ....

Anywho, the only things I have to do under the car are filling the rearend and doublechecking everything (found a solenoid bolt loose yesterday . Anyone have any good Ideas of anything else I may have not thought of. I know the startup routine with a sitting engine, just looking for some things I can double check. Oil pressure looked good when I test started it on turkeyday, but there was no RPM reading, not sure If I just didn't have something plugged in though.

Oh and should I get like a 30amp fuse/holder for my fuelpump? Im running its own wire to the battery, thought 30 should be fine, wish holley would mention.

Well I got everything hooked up and ready to go... Started the engine, got it idling, alot of smoke from under the car... not from the engine or exhaust... will have to check when theres daylight. The car runs sort of, revs up ok under normal acceleration, but during hard and fast accel, it goes from 2k to 6k in like 1.5 seconds and will backfire when letting off the gas fast.. it idles sort of ok at times.... Im thinking that it is the timing HOPEFULLY that or I was wondering if 10 month old gas could be bad for it also... Ill check the main things this next week and if im still stumped, I'll start a new thread I guess. Any quick Ideas?

Im thinking about checking the timing and electrical wiring... Is it to late to put stabalizer in my tank?

Finally

HURAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ..

Lol sorry... But today was my magical day... 11 months 25 days after getting the car, 11 months 19 after the engine died... I am finally Inspected/ licensed/ insured/ roadworthy/ fast and not having a heart attack while i drive (took 2 hours OMG I have never been soo scared in my life, DEAD serious).

The car runs beautify and my other long time rotor friend said it felt like it was still fuel injected, even with the aluminum flywheel. I will say that to me, the aluminum flywheel didn't affect the drivability for me. Honestly, my old 84 SE that had stock efi, racing beat exhaust and 4.444 rear end was less drivable for me (in the sence that it was a pain to drive not that it was hard, alway shifting and being at higher revs gets old... FAST lol).

I have only one minor leak on the entire car.. barely at all, on my Delortto by the spot where racing beat put in the rubber gasket spacer on the accelerator pump.. still looking for gas resistant material to replace. Replaced the brake master cylinder and delt with a friend that didn't know that it was not a good idea to constantly mash on the accelerator pedal while the car was off... I had to take out the spark plugs and spin engine 6 times to get her unflooded lolz.

Anywho thanks again to everyone that posts.. couldn't of done it as well without the info.. 8 years in and your always learning...

Ohh PS.. not like its a big deal, rather a funny story. On my way home for tonight, (plan on drinking, so no driving) I was about 1 mile from my house on a unpopulated 4 lane road (2 each way) and a kia hatchback, focus, and cavilier all riced out with exhaust... and NEON? (lol well the cav and focus did).. pull up next to me, at the light one of the juveniles rolled down his window and said my car sounded like a chainsaw... I of course take no offence but had to teach these yungins to RESPECT MUH ROTARY! lol since i have like 200 miles on my car from today I still didn't want to abuse it so just did a full throttle run in second gear and then later one from 3rd... each time it was like they weren't accelerating LOL I cant wait to go against my buddies wrx, although hes been putting some money in and might of eclipsed me... still fun fun... Ill try to post a video if I can borrow a camcorder...
