LA 85 gsl-se and racing beat muffler

I've seen plenty of videos and read numerous threads on exhaust systems for these cars. What I'm looking for is for those of you who are more on the conservative side like myself and are looking for a better sound without rattling the insides of the car loose and offending the neighbors trying to enjoy a quiet barbecue. With that said, I'm wanting feedback from those of you who have GSL-SEs, and have changed out JUST the muffler and at the most a free flowing cat. NO HEADER, NO GLASSPACK, NO HOMEMADE CRAP, just a simple muffler change. I'm also only interested in those who have used the Racing Beat muffler because that's what I've decided to go with. My question; how does it sound, I dont expect big hp gains, I just want a more desirable note out the back, does it drone while cruising, any opinions welcome Please fell free to include sound clips.....Thanks!

I have the RB muffler. It was the first addition i made to my SE and the sound was noticeably louder but not annoying. I don't remember if it droned at cruising though. I have since added a header and replaced the cats with a Borla muffler so now I do get a decent drone around 4K on the highway.

I'm in my mid 30's and prefer a throaty exhaust note that reminds you it is a sports car and not a riced out teenager with cheap mods coming down the street. So I think you will be happy with just the RB muffler.

I have a RB muffler with a high flow cat. I really like the sound. It doesn't drone and is fairly quiet until you get into it.

I had the muffler with a stock cat but it had a leak so I couldn't give you an accurate description of that.

I have the Bönez Performance Converter System. Rotary Performance | SA Exhaust

I'll get you a sound clip once the car is back on the road after paint.

Yes, that's exactly the system I'm running. Wow these things are rolling in faster than I can reply to them.

It's only a 12a, but I have one of these where the midpipe was, and it's great. Yep, I'm an old fart.

I have a RB muffler on my `85 GSL-SE. Factory exhaust all of the way back to the tailpipe. No howls or yowls even in full foot to the floor operations.

My `94 however, has a high flow cat and RB tailpipe, and is not noticeable through town. When I nail it at higher RPM`s, it screams. I guess with the looks of the car, maybe it should.
