85 gsl-se problem
My se is not running right. the power is normal until i get up around 6000 rpm then it pretty much just dies out and will not rev any higher. I have a new fuel pump and filter so i do not think it is fuel related. It could be ignitors but i dont really know the symptoms of malfunctioning ones. If anyone has any ideas let me know. Thanks a lot.

I know you said the fuel pump has been replaced so just take this for what it is worth. Last year when my pump started showing signs of failing on my 84SE (I was not aware of it being the pump), it would not matter what gear you were in but as soon as it hit 5500rpm there was a complete loss of power that would pick back up when the rpms dropped. One night when I was driving home, I could not get it above 2k rpm and a mile from the house it (the pump) just made this awful noise and quit running. Like I said, take it for what it is worth.
As far as the ignitors go in regards to the SE, if one goes out (does not seem to matter trailing or leading) the car will die all together. However, I can loose the lead ignitor on my GSL and it will still run, very little power but running. All the faulty ignitors I have will work until they heat up and then they quit working regardless of the rpm, so that does not seem to be your issue. All this is just my own personal experience.

Well actually, concerning the ignitors. The last couple times i went on a longer drive, say about an hour. My se started missing very badly, like 3000 rpm's. Maybe that gives the ignitors time to heat up and stop working. Concerning my cats and 6-port actuators. I removed the actuators and i just bought a racing beat exhaust system, so that cant be it, either. Could it be the coils maybe? Thanks for the input.

Only 2 injectors on an SE, right? 2nd gens are sequential.
How is the rest of your fuel system? Seems like it is not getting enough flow. Check the rest of the lines for blockage/kinking.
Perhaps the injectors are hella dirty?
