85 gsl-se exhaust!! opinions!!

im gonna be purchasing a new exhaust in the spring and i was just wanting to get some input on what people think the best exhaust set would be.

im looking for something louder than stock, but nothing outrageous. nice and beefy sounding.

thinking of a monza header and muffler than getting a custom straight pipe fabbed up from muffler shop.

or a full racing beat street port exhaust system with the header presilencers and the rest.

anyone tried a setup or have an exhaust like that who could relate how much they like or dislike it?

by the way i live in calgary alberta canada, so cats and smog are not mandatory.

input please!! thanks

Have not heard anything positive about the monza header at all. The Rb street port system seems to be the cadillac of exhaust systems and is proven to be a substantial Hp gainer. I know the other guys will chime in with their views on using a magnaflow, a borla, etc......
But when push comes to shove none of them have done any testing on a Rx7 to be able to give HP numbers. The RB system will give you a nice throaty sound and not be obnoxiously loud and is known to last.......

Ok guys, lets hear the magnaflow/borla stories without the usage of a pre-silencer,lol.

defenitly invest in a better header ... RB or SDJ (rumours has it they're not doing headers for a bit thought) If you search for my thread you'll find pictures of it and some nice info.

but I have that and a single magnaflow ... (its on the outrageously loud side) right not but panning on a second muffler where the old cats used to be. Offset Magnaflow also.

You can hear a sound clip of it here ... I need to take a better clip though.

Full exhaust mods are listed on the right of that link too ... running 2.5" piping SS which peope say results in a louder sound too because of the harder metal.

My set up will be RB header>straight pipe>RB muffler. Definitely louder than stock but with a very nice throaty tone. It really depends though on your plans for HP numbers and goals for your 7
