85 GSL 12A Throttle Position Sensor Problem?
My 85 GSL 12A runs bad. My mechanic buddy says I need a Throttle Position Sensor (TPS). The car has difficulty in reaching 60 MPH. The idle is terrible. I have installed new spark plugs, spark plug wires and air filter. The car has very little power. My mechanic buddy checked the timing and suggested replacing the TPS. I think the carburator is a stock Nikki. I look for vaccum leaks and could not find any. The car is all warm up when this poor performance is experienced.

I thought this was the throttle sensor on the nikki.
Did you just get the car? Probably needs the carb to be rebuilt if it looks anything like this one. If it's been sitting for a long time I bet the air bleeds are all cloged up.

check this out it saved me from giving up on my car http://www.mazdatrix.com/faq/shutter.htm, by the time I had found this link i had already rebuild the carb and had two shops abuse my car trying to figure it out, but found this to be the original problem once i got it back.
