Hi all, just bought 85 12a. Im having an issue just around 3000rpms. When I get on the throttle it feels good all the way up to about 8 or 9000rpms. When cruzing it sputters at 3000. The guy I bought it from put a holley 650. Could that be the issue or maybe coils/ignition issue. What do you think.please help. Thanks.

 

Probably the carb. My guess is that the primary jets are too large for cruising. You could try using a smaller jet for the primaries.
