85 gs carb problems

I just rebuilt my stock carb and now the secondaries wont work.. When the car is off you can push them open and the move easily, but if you push them open while the car is running there is a lot of resistance.. also the car idles between 1500 and 2000 rpms. It idled perfect before the rebuild, and the secondaries worked fine..

help!

Did you mess with the idle speed or mixture screws? What did you do to the secondary linkage if anything?

The throttle screw does nothing.. the mixure screw works fine , But I am not sure how all the linkage goes.. I am pretty sure all the linkage is on right, the car drives fine, but I dont have any diagrams or pitures of the correct way. the pivoting thing that the throttle adjustment screw is on is the thing im not sure about....

What pivoting thing? The throttle screw (idle speed) should eventually contact the linkage and open the throttle, increasing idle speed.

When I put my new carn on it wouldnt idle under 2000. I had a vacuum leak. Check for that. Make sure the manifold is well mated to the motor and the carb is to the manifold and that there are no other kinds of vacuum leaks good luck.
