'85 Gs
I'm looking at a '85 GS. What were the running gear options for this model? Its got a 5 speed. Any bad things about this year/model? Was this the base model for that year?

GSL options
power windows
rear wiper
power anttenna
power steering "optional"
leather interior "optional"
12a engine
4x110 bolt pattern
13" wheels

Bigger sway bars over base model
bettter springs and shocks over base model
and I think those are all the main differences

Almost.. there was a model below "GS"... the "G" model was the base model :P
and you forgot that while the G and GS had rear drum brakes, the GSL and GSL-SE had rear discs and limited slip differential gearboxes (as opposed to open diff gearboxes)
But still, I love my '84GS. All those extra "options" add extra weight anyway
Jon
edit: and notice how nobody even bothered mention Automatic Tranny? Probably because it sucked. Just like the AT on the Rx8 takes 40hp away from it!

85gs from 84gsl
i have an 84gsl and an 85gs, i took out the lsd and i am putting it in my 85, and the bolt patter, cp racing makes a 4-5 lug conversion for 300shipped, so i bought that, and i am swapping the pw, cc, pa, and all that from the 84 to the 85...so in a way i will have the best of both worlds, it kinda sucked though, i had a pos 84 and i bought a really nice 85, and i didnt want the lower model, so i decided to switch it over...its not easy by any means though, i will have to get some pics up soon, i just ordered my 17x7's for the front, and 18x8.5 for the rear, i will get pics, it should look good

Oh yeah, and they had some really cheap looking wheels too.
