85 13b clutch problems

my car was running fine 2 months ago then out of no where my clutch was having trouble catching then it just stopped catching all together; i never heard anything pop like i blew the clutch.... do u think it would be that i need a new clutch or would it be that the hydrolic fluid is bad... i want to replace the whole clutch and flywheel bc their is 150,000 miles but if i could get by with just getting new hydrolic fluid, it would help bc i am strapped w money....

Explain more, does the pedal just hit the floor with no back pressure?

You could try bleeding the system but i doubt that will accomplish anything

first of all welcome the the forums.

i highly recommend that you check out the FAQ thread stickied on top of this section. next i recommend using the search tool located below the rx7.com club banner. if your search was unsuccessful, start a new thread and we can provide further assistance.

well, with that aside it sounds like you may have to replace the master cylinder or slave cylinder since you mentioned the the clutch is not grabbing at all. or if your clutch has 150k original miles on it then wow you need to do a full clutch job.

Sounds like a bad slave -->they are fairly cheap

try bleeding the system first see if that has any change, then if not get a new slave.

Make sure you use the right DOT rating. Dot 3 and 4 are compatible with each other DOT 5 is NOT
