84gsl Won't Start

Need a little help, I let my 84GSL with a 12A sit for about a month. I went to start yesterday with the choke out, but the engine only turned but never start. Also I never noticed this before when I would try to start it. But the tech needle would bounce up and down when I tried to start it, could this be a sign for why it won't start.

Thanks for the help.

I'm betting your motor has low compression. It happens when you let motors with low compression sit for awhile. It'll start, but with some effort.

Tach bouncing on startup is normal. The engine is rotating afterall...
