'84-SE trailing link mounts replaceable?
I picked up an '84 GSL-SE last summer and just got it out of winter storage and went for my 1st inspection. Mazda says my trailing link mounts are "rusted away" and won't pass it. They said you'd have to buy new rear quarter panels which aren't available any more. Anybody else had this problem? Is it fixable? Any info. appreciated! Thanks.

Really, anything is repairable..Its just deciding whether its worth it or not.
Ill bet the rust looks something like my car did. I fixed it myself (first time really using a welder) and though it doesnt look as prety as it could it passed safety no problem.

Yes, the car end (front end) of the trailing link...Where it mounts to is rusty...How hard is it to remove the old and weld new ones on somehow and maintain correct rear end geometry? What kind of shop should I seek out for this? Thank you again.

Take a look at his link and then search some of the others to see the work involved. Any pics of yours so we can tell how bad it is?
Any shop that does car resto work and do this for you. Bet you wont like the price though.
