I was off screwing around in the industrial park where my bodyshop is located and I lost a power steering belt while under full lock. It started screeching and then broke lose. Well this has been bout a month or so ago and just now got the car out to change the radiator(had been leaking) and belts on it.

Now the power steering doesn't work the pump turns like it should and doesn't make noise. I pumped all the fluid out and it showed its age but wasn't that bad dirty and barely had any trash in it.

Is there a pressure relief valve on these pumps that could have stuck open while at full lock? The steering was fine until then.
