84 GSL-SE wont idle under 1500 rpms

First post on the forum but I've been living at the rx-8 forum for the last couple years. I just got my GSL-SE two days ago and when they put it on the truck the o2 sensor wire under the car was pulled loose. I had a friend who owns a 3rd gen reconnect and tape it. The car runs great but the idle always sits above 1000, 1500 average and sometimes as high as 2000 even when warmed up. Will disconnecting and reconnecting the battery possibly fix this and if so how should I go about it? Im pretty sure the sensor is still good. The car is in pretty great shape, all stock under the hood with a 10,000 mile rebuild, really clean all around with a nice body kit and whale tail.

Well welcome to the quirks of an SE. The o'2 sensor has nothing to do with the idle.
Disconnecting and reconnecting the battery will do nothing either.
You need to do a search on this subject. Has been covered over and over and over again. Just one of the inherent traits of the SE. rx7doctor

Check all the vacuum hoses. Anything after the Air Flow Meter should be air tight.
