Cool 84 gsl se, hestitates under 4000rpm

I have an 84 with a 13B, which hesitates really badly under 4000 rpm. This car takes of like a rocket the minute it hits 4000. It doesn't want to idle and seems to be running fairly rich. This problem is also somewhat intermitant as it is never perfect but sometimes better than others. Any input is appreciated.

See if you have spark on the leading plugs. If that checks out, then verify the timing. If that checks out, then you may be looking at clogged jets on the primaries in the carb...

Also, take a look at the condition of the cap/rotor on the distributor. Good luck and welcome to the forum.

Nope

This car has been given a complete tune up already(cap rotor, plugs, wires, and timing set.) It is also fuel injected so carbs are out of the question. Thanks for the thoughts.

You should still visually verify that you have spark on the leading plugs...

Sounds to me like your Air Flow Meter is hanging up. Take it off and lube the flapper and it should be ok. I had this problem once before. Let me know if this works.

Hey Trochoid! I haven't see you around in a while, is it we've missed each other's post, or have you been MIA?
