'84 Gsl-se
I found an '84 GSL-SE, totally stock, air pump and all, for $1500 (canuck bucks) at the local auto wrecker's. No wheel well rust, new exhaust system front to back (on stock manifold), a few paint chips (nothing a bit of bondo and some touch-up paint can't fix), and the interior is immaculate. The engine bay looks showroom, and there's no major oil leaks (except for the infamous oil-filter pedastal o-rings). The odo reads 158,xxx kilometers.
The battery was almost dead, but I was persistant, and kept turning the key, and eventually the thing fired up. I was quite amazed, as most rotaries that I've tried starting take a lot to even crank them over.
The idle is smooth, no misses, it's quiet, and doesn't smoke. It puffed a bit on startup, but nothing to be worried about, it's just from sitting for a while (about a month), without being started.
Sound like a good deal guys?
How much would she be worth if I decided to turn around and sell her?

yeah, if it's at the junkyard, 1500 should be very flexible ... what's that in greenbacks, like, 1300????
the price itself is not bad for an SE, but it's just the junkyard factor. it sounds great, though, try to talk hiom down and TAKE IT.

yeah why are good cars at the junkyard?
I seen the other day looking for parts, a 93 or so celica, paint looked nic, not a dent one, not wrecked, complete motor, nice and dry looking. Got a battery hooked it up and it ran, WTF

Take it. In the WORST case scenario there's a ton of great parts you can sell on ebay and make a handsome profit, esp. if the interior is that good.
$1,500 for an SE, BC car is great with or without a running engine.
