84 GSL Brake Question

Hey guys, I am having trouble getting my brakes to properly bleed. Recently, I rebuilt the calipers and put them on. The car has sat for at least 1.5 years.

When I bleed the rears, the pedal doesn't build pressure till way past the midpoint. But, when the pressure is released at the bleeder valve, the fluid has good pressure and squirts out. Both the rears do this. Normal right?

But, when I go to bleed the front, the pedal still has no feeling till past the midpoint, where it is suddenly rock hard. I pump the brakes and this is the effect. I tried to bleed both fronts and a little fluid squirts out when the valve is open, but there is no pressure.

I am thinking that maybe the master cylinder is bad? Or maybe something else? I double checked all the seals and fittings to make sure nothing is leaking. I didn't see anything though.
Thanks

sounds like it could be a bad cylinder. Just making sure here, are you doing your brakes in order? As in passenger rear first, then driver rear, then passenger front, and lastly driver front. If you don't follow that order you will most likely have air bubbles in your brake lines. Also another thing that I do to insure the least air as possible is slip a clear hose over the bleeder. One that goes on tight, so that when you pump the pedal you can see all the air bubbles being pushed out, and also like this you can have the other end of the hose going back to the brake fluid bottle to not harm the enviroment.

Yeah, I made sure to do the brakes in order. But like I said, whenever I pump up the rears, the pedal is only stiff up to about midway, before that there is nothing. when the pressure is released (pedal still held down), it squirts.
When doing the fronts, I can pump maybe two times and the pedal is still completely soft till past midway where it becomes rock hard. Only a little bit of fluid comes out of the fronts with the pedal being held down. Tis very frustrating.
