I got my 84 GSL Automatic back together again and have a new problem....

It does not like to go over 80 mph.....it has a roar that developes and I have a lack of power.......

My AC compressor is shot.........but the belts still on.....
could this be the problem.......or could the engine be restricted.....clogged cats....

Maybe its the tires. Mine wouldn't go over 80 as well, no matter how hard I pressed the pedal. Try getting them balanced for high speed or just get new tires. If your a/c is screwed up, just remove it - not that bad, just a few bolts.
