Question 84 Brake light assembly on an 81-2?

I was just wondering how hard it would be to put the brake light assembly with the center piece off of an '84 onto an '82 or 3, I know Ive seen this done before but was wondering what was needed.
From what Ive seen on them u just need the assembly and the bumper.

i was just wondering cause Im geting an '82/3 and can probably get ahold of an '84 for parts or vice versa, and like the '84 tail lights

Thanks

an '82 or '83 already has the same brake lights as an '84-'85

Like Manntis said, the '81-83 models have identical lights to the '84-'85. If you are buying a '79 or '80, the rear light assembly doesn't just bolt in. It takes some bodywork for the conversion to come off right, because you have to fill the 'baroque impression.' To my mind, it's not worth it. Especially when the SA looks so neato-keen retro as-is.

See now I feel like a dork I was under the Impression they didnt change until '84, but thats why I ask questions,
I like the older assembly but was wondering how hard it would be to change.

Thanks for the Info and settin my teenage ignorance in line.
