83 RX7 won't crank

I just bought an 83 RX7 with 117,000 miles on it that has been sitting in a shed since 93. The owner had cranked it and it would run but not idle. He installed a new fuel pump and filter, but that didn't help. I rebuilt the carb (Nikki), put in new plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, air filter, and changed oil and filter. It seemed to be killing the battery (new, cheap one) when I tried to crank it so I replaced the alternator. After adjusting the idle mixture and speed it was running fine. I poured a can of flush in the radiator and let it run for awhile, then let it sit overnight. Pulled the radiator hoses off and replaced them, and poured in new anti-freeze. Tried to crank it, it turns over fine, but will not fire. It's getting gas to the carburtator and has spark. I followed the trouble shooting guide in the Haynes manual and it seems to be the air vent solenoid.

Anyone had similar problems?

Any place other than a dealer to get an air vent solenoid?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Try a search on deflooding procedure, its easy to flood a rotary and has to be manually deflooded.
