Mazda did not ship 1st gen convertibles to the United States, but it does not mean that they did not exist. I drove a 1984 (in 84) that was a Red covertible Rx-7 with automatic.

There is no such thing as a FB vert from Mazda
There is so and I had one it came in a dark shade of white, 15 inch wheels full size 17’ inch spare, lsd on the front and rear, four’ rotor 12a turbo, leather interior with storage bins and a back seat, 140 mph speedometer and a drink holder not the one in glove compartment either. I’ will post pictures later.
