83 dash vent repair

My 1983 dash center directional vent came loose. Does the entire dash have to be removed to repair it? Thanks

The dash does not need to come out. It should come out with a very flat flexible tool. A regular screwdriver is a little too thick. Maybe one of those plastic trim tools. Just be careful to not dent the dash.
