83 12a problems

I have an 83 12a. got it we'll say day 1. Ran fine, no trouble what-so-ever. Day 2, i go to crank it, and was hard to crank. Once it did crank, hard to hold idle. Once you press the pedal (full throttle) it seems to choke itself out. Maybe flooding out, could be getting too much fuel, not enough spark, too much air. I have rebuilt the carb, replaced the fuel pump, new plugs, wires, distributer, cap, rotor button, fuel filter, air filter, new floats/neddles/jets, and a few more unimportant things. You can slowly press the gas, and it MAY rev up, or put it to the floor, and the revs will jump up, but in between, it stutters, chokes, stalls. I am on day 17, and am looking for a large gauge shotgun. Please give any advise before i put an end to the Rotary.
Have you tried adjusting your idel mixture?
What fuel pressure are you running?
Is your fuel level in the float bowls at the halfway point and holding steady?
Have you checked your timing?
Does your tach work?
peace

Idle mixture has been adjusted as the timing too. Not sure how much pressure im running, need to get a gauge. Fuel level in the bowls is holding steady. Tach worked Day 1, now mysteriously it does not, makes me think it may be electrical.

I know it's obvious, but check to make sure the conection to your trailing coil is good, and all other conections for that matter. I had a loose conection at one time that cause the same problem. Don't condem the ingnitor just yet.
You can disconnect the tach send wire from the trailing coil and hook it up to the leading coil and see if it's the tach itself. The trailing plugs don't really affect the engine's power all that much, I doubt that's the problem.

Check the connections too, but nine times out of ten it's the igniter. And the lack of trailing spark will affect your idle, driveability, and power through your rpm range.

Check out what nimrod wrote....but im going with you. ok if its not the ignitor, which i doubt if it is, any other ideas man, cause u seem to know something.
Just FYI, ignitors can be intermitit. Does "forget the tach" mean you fixed that? Next guess, are you sure your accelerator pump is working? No squirt when you depress gas will give a lean problem (that's what it prevents) Check your timing again and make sure you get advance. May be carb adjustment,,, especially if just rebuilt.......

no cats straight pipes. the ignitors are ok, working fine. accelerator pump is fine also, replaced the diaphram and linkage. timing is on the money, and air fuel mix is very close if not exact. yes this is the first 7 i have owned, but ive been in around and under them for the past 5-6 years. new to the 1st gens, but i know a rotary.
